Terra Colony Project I: Terra Colony Dreamers
Wrenched awake by a nightmare, Antonia’s world collapses around her. Only twenty and newlywed, the devastation in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami, leave her heart as bleak a prospect as the city where she’s built her life. The loss of her family, and her husband Pedro’s head injury, leave her isolated in an increasingly hostile world.
Camping on the street with refugees and tormented by thoughts of what her family must have endured as they perished, another dream sweeps her away to a beautiful, colorful new world.
Nearby on Twin Peaks, Charlie Teng tries to hold his family together in the face of three tragedies, little realizing this last one will cause his path to cross a dreamer's, changing their lives forever.
In Nevada, Brian has isolated himself in the desert, and is soloing on a project that should be done with a team of six. Haunted by the beautiful dream of a new world, he searches the web at night and discovers he's not the only one.
I decided after prospective readers gave my rather large first book the side-eye, to divide it into three separate novels. Book 1 Terra Colony Dreamers, released on March 1st. New titles coming: Training Ground, and Terra Shalom

Karen Lopez, Author of; Poppy, Score of the season, Shaw Point collection, and Letters from Kansas
Shimrit read Karen's book Poppy, and really enjoyed it. A refreshing ‘from hardship to blessings’ story, hopeful and endearing.
Here are Karen's thoughts on Shimrit's book The Dreamers.
When you awake from a beautiful dream to the chaos and confusion of the recent destruction by earthquake and flood of your city, it is tempting to want to return to the dream. But for one dreamer, Antonia, she must survive in her waking nightmare...until she finds herself running for her life and right into a small delegation of other dreamers on their way to 'the dream'.
This was a heartbreaking and delightful read.
This reader was enchanted by the picturesque descriptions of other worldly beauty, ingenuity of building and creating from raw resources, and myriad aspects of gardening, weaving, and many other crafts. If adventure, survival, community, friendship, and faith are what you enjoy in a book, I think you will love this series.
Terri Gillespie, Award winning Author of: Making Eye Contact with God, and The Hair Mavens series including, She Does Good Hair, Cut it Out, and A Really Bad Hair Day, Also, Sweet Rivalry
Shimrit read the first two books in Terri's Hair Mavens series. With such a blend of personalities working side by side, there are sure to be some mishaps!
Here's Terri's take on Shimrit's book The Dreamers.
n THE DREAMERS (Book 1 in The Terra Colony Project), first-time novelist Shimrit Hanes has done a beautiful job building a believable world. Set in the future, she gives plausible circumstances that force a small population of earth to seek a new home -- on a new planet.
Fantasy/futurist-is not my usual genre, but the believability kept me reading. And I'm glad I did!

I LOVED this book! My reading choices are limited by my lifestyle, but this was an absolute treat. It gave me hope for the future, made me more aware of those around me, helped me examine my best traits and my worst, and yet thoroughly entertained.
